Abstract
A blood filtration method, system, device and media for removing gram negative bacteria from the blood wherein the media includes a substrate coated with mannose optionally in constitution with substrate coated with heparin.
Claims24
A blood-filtration medium comprising:
- a substrate coated with mannose;
- and
- optionally an anti-coagulation component.
A system for filtering blood comprising:
- a container comprising a substrate coated with mannose;
- optionally an anti-coagulation component;
- and
- an extracorporeal blood filtration device, wherein said container is functionally coupled to the blood filtration device so that when in use the blood flows through the container and contacts said substrate.
