Fibrin Wafer/Disc as a Biological Carrier for Sustained Delivery of Curcumin

A process for the preparation of a drug delivery system for curcumin comprising drawing fibrinogen solution into a syringe, adding curcumin to reconstituted purified thrombin solution to obtain a mixture followed by loading a second syringe with the mixture, simultaneously delivering the fibrinogen solution and the curcumin-thrombin mixture into culture wells for polymerization to take place, followed by lyophilisation of the polymerized product to obtain the drug delivery system.
