Abstract
An embodiment vibration dampening device includes a stack of permanent magnets having a plurality of cross-sectional areas, wherein the permanent magnets are electrically coupled in series with each other. The device further includes an insulating sheath disposed around the stack of permanent magnets, and a visco-elastic polymer disposed within the sheath and around the stack of permanent magnets.

A vibration dampening device comprising:
- a stack of permanent magnets having a plurality of cross-sectional areas, wherein the permanent magnets are electrically coupled in series with each other;
- an insulating sheath disposed around the stack of permanent magnets;
- and
- a dampening fluid disposed within the sheath and around the stack of permanent magnets.

A method of forming a vibration dampening device, the method comprising:
- forming a stack of permanent magnets having a plurality of cross-sectional areas, wherein the permanent magnets are electrically coupled in series with each other;
- disposing an insulating sheath around the stack of permanent magnets;
- and
- inserting a dampening fluid within the sheath and around the stack of permanent magnets.
