System and apparatus for positioning intermodal containers on pallets

A system for positioning and securing a container on and in relation to a rectangular pallet, said pallet and said container each having four corners and a longitudinal center axis, the system comprising:

• a plurality of adapters each removably attached to one corner of said pallet;
• each of said adapters configured to engage one corner of said container;
• a plurality of strap brace assemblies removably secured to one lateral side of said pallet;
• each of said plurality of strap brace assemblies configured to support one lateral side of said container;
• a plurality of strap anchors removably secured to a second lateral side of said pallet;
• a plurality of flexible straps each having a proximal end and a distal end, said proximal ends removably secured to said anchors and said distal ends removably secured to said strap braces;
• whereby said container is positioned with its said longitudinal center axis offset from said pallets of said longitudinal center axis;
• said flexible straps surrounding the sides and top of said container and securing said container in relation to said pallet;
• and
• said adapters positioning said container in relation to said pallet.
