Abstract
Described herein is a bead-coated sheet and methods of making wherein a sheet substrate selected from a metal, a glass, and/or a glass-ceramic, comprises a layer of microspheres that are partially embedded into the surface of the sheet substrate such that a portion of each of the microspheres projects outwardly from the surface of the sheet substrate.

A bead-coated sheet comprising:
- a sheet substrate selected from at least one of:
- a metal, a glass, and a glass-ceramic;
- and
- a layer of microspheres, wherein the microspheres are partially embedded into a surface of the sheet substrate so that a portion of each of the microspheres projects outwardly from the surface of the sheet substrate, wherein the microspheres are substantially spherical and wherein the surface of the bead-coated sheet has a coefficient of friction of less than 0.4 when measured using the Friction Test Method with 100 cycles and a load of 1N.

(canceled)
A method of making a bead-coated sheet comprising:
- providing microspheres, wherein the microspheres are substantially spherical;
- applying a layer of the microspheres onto a sheet substrate, wherein the sheet substrate is selected from the group consisting of:
- a metal, a glass, a glass-ceramic, and combinations thereof;
- and
- embedding the microspheres into the surface of the sheet substrate so that a portion of each of the microspheres projects outwardly from the surface of the sheet substrate and wherein the surface of the bead-coated sheet has a coefficient of friction of less than 0.4 when measured using the Friction Test Method with 100 cycles and a load of 1N.
