Abstract
A flow-through filter article, as defined herein, including: a honeycomb and at least a portion of the honeycomb having a surface modification comprising: a first adsorbent comprising an activated carbon; a second adsorbent for a volatile organic compound, as defined herein; and a binder. Also disclosed is a method of making and using the filter article.

A flow-through filter article comprising:
- a honeycomb;
- and
- at least a portion of the honeycomb having a surface modification comprising:
- a first adsorbent comprising an activated carbon;
- a second adsorbent for a volatile organic compound comprising a particulate inorganic having a high surface area of from 50 to 500 m2/g selected from at least one of:
- a sol-gel;
- a synthetic or natural zeolite, a precipitated metal oxide, a fumed metal oxide;
- or a combination thereof;
- and
- a binder.
