Abstract
Compositions and methods useful for the treatment of cancer, particularly lymphoma, are disclosed.
Claims10
A method for the treatment of cancer in a patient in need thereof, comprising administration of an effective amount of an glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) inhibitor in combination with an apoptosis inducing chemotherapeutic agent, said inhibitor being effective to stabilize myc, thereby enhancing apoptosis inducing action of said chemotherapeutic agent.
A method for the treatment of Burkitt's lymphoma in a patient in need thereof, comprising administration of an effective amount of an glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) inhibitor in combination with doxorubicin, said inhibitor being effective to stabilize myc, thereby enhancing apoptosis inducing action of said doxorubicin.
A method for the treatment of lymphoma in a patient in need thereof, comprising
- a) obtaining genotype sequencing information from sequencing nucleic acids from said subject;
- b) detecting in said information the presence or absence of a myc threonine-58 mutation, the presence of said mutation indicating that said patient will not benefit from combined therapy with chemotherapy and GSK-3 inhibitor, and
- c) administering a chemotherapeutic agent and a GSK-3 inhibitor to those patients lacking said mutation, thereby inducing lymphoma cell death in said patient.
