Disclosed are methods and compositions for treating or preventing diseases or disorders associated with mitochondrial calcium uniporter (MCU) activity. The methods may include administering a modulator of MCU activity to a patient in need thereof.

A method of treating or preventing a disease or disorder associated with mitochondrial calcium channel (MCU) activity in a patient in need thereof, the method comprising administering a pharmaceutical composition comprising an agent that modulates MCU activity to the patient.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising a polynucleotide encoding a dominant negative mutant of MCU.
