Abstract
A user terminal includes a controller configured to perform a network selection operation for selecting an access network in which the user terminal exchanges traffic from among a cellular RAN (Radio Access Network) and a wireless LAN (Local Area Network). The controller performs processes of: receiving wireless LAN identifiers for using the network selection operation, the wireless LAN identifiers broadcasted from a cellular base station, and receiving offload related information for prompting the user terminal to steer the traffic to the wireless LAN, the offload related information broadcasted from the cellular base station.

A user terminal comprising:
- a controller configured to perform a network selection operation for selecting an access network in which the user terminal exchanges traffic from among a cellular RAN (Radio Access Network) and a wireless LAN (Local Area Network), wherein
- the controller performs processes of
- receiving wireless LAN identifiers for using the network selection operation, the wireless LAN identifiers broadcasted from a cellular base station, and
- receiving offload related information for prompting the user terminal to steer the traffic to the wireless LAN, the offload related information broadcasted from the cellular base station.
A user terminal comprising:
- a controller configured to perform a network selection operation for selecting an access network in which the user terminal exchanges traffic from among a cellular RAN (Radio Access Network) and a wireless LAN (Local Area Network), wherein
- when ANDSF (Access Network Discovery and Selection Function) information provided by an ANDSF is available at the user terminal, the controller performs the network selection operation by using access network selection assistance information provided by the cellular RAN as well as the ANDSF information.
A user terminal comprising:
- a controller configured to perform a network selection operation for selecting an access network in which the user terminal exchanges traffic from among a cellular RAN (Radio Access Network) and a wireless LAN (Local Area Network), wherein
- when the user terminal exists in a home network, the controller uses wireless LAN identifiers provided by an ANDSF (Access Network Discovery and Selection Function) or an enhanced ANDSF of the home network, to the network selection operation, and
- when the user terminal exists in a visited network, the controller uses wireless LAN identifiers provided by a cellular RAN of the visited network, to the network selection operation.
A cellular base station comprising:
- a controller configured to control a network selection operation for selecting an access network in which a user terminal exchanges traffic from among a cellular RAN (Radio Access Network) and a wireless LAN (Local Area Network), wherein
- the controller performs processes of
- broadcasting wireless LAN identifiers for using the network selection operation, and
- broadcasting offload related information for prompting the user terminal to steer the traffic to the wireless LAN.
