Abstract
Technologies are generally described for an audio playing scheme for digital billboard systems. In some examples, a method performed under control of a server may include receiving from an end device a control signal configured to indicate that the end device is located in a first predetermined area relative to a first digital billboard, identifying first video data currently displayed on the first digital billboard, determining first audio data corresponding to the first video data, and transmitting the first audio data to the end device based on the control signal.

A method performed by one or more servers, comprising:
- identifying first visual media content being displayed on a first digital billboard;
- receiving, from a first end device, a first request for first audio data corresponding to the first digital billboard;
- transmitting, to the first end device, the first audio data and a first time stamp that is used to synchronize the first audio data and the first visual media content on the first end device;
- receiving, from a second end device, a second request for the first audio data corresponding to the first digital billboard;
- and
- transmitting, to the second end device, the first audio data and a second time stamp that is used to synchronize the first audio data and the first visual media content on the second end device.
A server comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- memory including instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the server to:
- identify first visual media content being displayed on a first digital billboard;
- receive, from a first end device, a first request for first audio data corresponding to the first visual media content,
- identify the first audio data based on the first request,
- transmit, to the first end device, the first audio data and a first time stamp that is used to synchronize the first audio data and the first visual media content on the first end device,
- receive, from a second end device, a second request for the first audio data corresponding to the first visual media content,
- identify the first audio data based on the second request, and
- transmit, to the second end device, the first audio data and a second time stamp that is used to synchronize the first audio data and the first visual media content on the second end device.
A system, comprising:
- a server comprising at least one processor and memory including instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the server to:
- identify first visual media content being displayed on a first digital billboard,
- receive, from a first end device, a first request for first audio data corresponding to the first visual media content,
- transmit, to the first end device, the first audio data and a first time stamp that is used to synchronize the first audio data and the first visual media content on the first end device,
- receive, from a second end device, a second request for the first audio data corresponding to the first visual media content, and
- transmit, to the second end device, the first audio data and a second time stamp that is used to synchronize the first audio data and the first visual media content on the second end device;
- the first end device configured to:
- transmit, to the server, the first request for the first audio data,
- receive, from the server, the first time stamp and the first audio data, and
- play the first audio data based at least in part on the first time stamp;
- and
- the second end device configured to:
- transmit, to the server, the second request for the first audio data,
- receive, from the server, the second time stamp and the first audio data, and
- play the first audio data based at least in part on the second time stamp.
