Abstract
A display system includes a display arranged in sight of a viewer, a sensory subsystem configured to sense an ocular condition of the viewer, and a controller. Operatively coupled to the display and to the sensory subsystem, the controller is configured to adjust an operating parameter of the display system in response to the ocular condition, in order to prevent or relieve eye discomfort experienced by the viewer.
Claims20
A display system comprising:
- a display arranged in sight of a viewer;
- a sensory subsystem configured to sense an ocular condition of the viewer, the sensory subsystem comprising an eye-imaging camera and two infra-red light sources;
- and
- a controller operatively coupled to the display and to the sensory subsystem, the controller configured to apply output from the sensory subsystem to track a gaze direction of the viewer, and to adjust an operating parameter of the display system in response to the ocular condition to relieve eye discomfort experienced by the viewer.

(canceled)
A wearable, head-mounted display system comprising:
- a stereoscopic, see-through display positioned close to a wearer's eye;
- a sensory subsystem configured to sense a condition of the wearer's eye;
- and
- a controller operatively coupled to the display and to the sensory subsystem, the controller configured to apply output from the sensory subsystem to track a gaze direction of the wearer, and to adjust an operating parameter of the display system in response to the condition to relieve eye discomfort experienced by the wearer.

A display system comprising:
- a display arranged in sight of a viewer;
- a sensory subsystem including an ocular sensor configured to sense an ocular condition of the viewer, and a stress sensor configured to detect physiological stress on the viewer;
- and
- a controller operatively coupled to the display and to the sensory subsystem, the controller configured to adjust an operating parameter of the display system in response to output of the ocular sensor and of the stress sensor, to relieve eye discomfort experienced by the viewer.
