Abstract
A wireless electronic device includes a multi-layer flexible printed circuit board with two or more openings. A ferrite extends through the two or more openings such that a portion of the ferrite is on a top surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board and a portion of the ferrite is on a bottom surface, which is opposite the top surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board.
Claims21
A wireless electronic device comprising:
- a multi-layer flexible printed circuit board comprising two or more openings therein;
- and
- a ferrite that extends through the two or more openings such that a first portion of the ferrite is on a first surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board and a second portion of the ferrite is on a second surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board,
- wherein the first surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board is opposite the second surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board.

A wireless electronic device comprising:
- a multi-layer flexible printed circuit board comprising two or more openings therein;
- a ferrite that extends through the two or more openings such that a first portion of the ferrite is on a first surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board and a second portion of the ferrite is on a second surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board, wherein the first surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board is opposite the second surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board;
- and
- conductive traces on the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board, the conductive traces comprising a first loop section of one or more conductive traces around a first one of the openings in the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board and a second loop section of one or more conductive traces around a second one of the openings in the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board,
- wherein first ones of the conductive traces are on the first surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board and second ones of the conductive traces are on the second surface of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board,
- wherein the ferrite and the first and second loop sections provide a first hotspot that is configured to provide near field communication (NFC) and is located near a first end of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board and a second hotspot that is configured to provide NFC and is located near a second end of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board, and
- wherein the first end and the second end comprise opposite ends of the multi-layer flexible printed circuit board.
