Processor for use in dynamic refresh rate switching and related electronic device and method

An electronic device, comprising:

• a display panel;
• a driving device, configured to drive the display panel;
• and
• a processor, configured to control the driving device to refresh the display panel with a selected refresh rate and determine whether to adjust a data transmission rate over an interface between the processor and the driving device according to the selected refresh rate.

A method for switching a refresh rate of a display panel in an electronic device, comprising:

• dynamically selecting one refresh rate from a plurality refresh rates;
• providing a control signal to a driving device to control the driving device to refresh the display panel with the selected refresh rate;
• and
• determining whether to adjust a data transmission rate at which image data is provided to the driving device according to the selected refresh rate.
