Abstract
Provided are techniques for parallel container and record organization using buckets. In response to receiving an update to an entity in a file plan, a date associated with a disposition of the entity is determined and a reference to the entity is added to a bucket associated with the date.

A computer program product, the computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having program code embodied therewith, the program code executable by at least one processor to perform:
- in response to receiving an update to an entity in a file plan,
- determining, by the at least one processor, a date associated with a disposition of the entity;
- and
- adding, by the at least one processor, a reference to the entity to a bucket associated with the date.

- one or more processors, one or more computer-readable memories and one or more computer-readable, tangible storage devices;
- and
- program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more computer-readable, tangible storage devices for execution by at least one of the one or more processors via at least one of the one or more memories, to perform:
- in response to receiving an update to an entity in a file plan,
- determining, using a processor of a computer, a date associated with a disposition of the entity;
- and
- adding a reference to the entity to a bucket associated with the date.
