Abstract
Methods, apparatus, and computer program products for determining software complexity. A plurality of versions of a software module whose complexity is to be determined are compressed. Lengths of the compressed versions are compared, one with another, to provide complexity metrics.
Claims12
A method comprising:
- creating a plurality of versions of a software component;
- compressing each of the plurality of versions to provide a compressed version corresponding to each of the plurality of versions;
- determining a length of each of the compressed versions;
- calculating a software complexity metric based on a ratio between the lengths of at least two of the compressed versions;
- and
- using the software complexity metric to determine complexity of the software component.
