Abstract
A unified communications application is described herein. The unified communications application is displayable in one of two views: a full view and a condensed view. When displayed in the condensed view, which consumes less than fifty percent of a display screen, the unified communications application is employable by a user thereof to participate in real-time conversations/meetings with contacts of the user.
Claims20
A portable computing device comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- memory storing a window-less operating system that, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the at least one processor to perform acts comprising:
- displaying a graphical user interface of a unified communications (UC) application on a display of the portable computing device, the graphical user interface displayed in a first preset view, the graphical user interface when displayed in the first preset view comprises a control corresponding to a communications modality supported by the UC application;
- and
- responsive to detecting a predefined gesture over the display, displaying the graphical user interface on the display in a second preset view, the graphical user interface when displayed in the second preset view comprises the control, the graphical user interface when displayed in the second preset view occupies less of the display when compared to the graphical user interface when displayed in the first preset view.
A method comprising:
- at a tablet computing device that executes a window-less operating system:
- displaying, on a touch-sensitive display of the tablet computing device, a graphical user interface of a unified communications (UC) application in a first preset view, wherein the graphical user interface in the first preset view comprises a control that corresponds to a communications modality supported by the UC application;
- and
- responsive to detecting a predefined gesture over the touch-sensitive display, displaying, on the touch-sensitive display, the graphical user interface of the UC application in a second preset view, the graphical user interface in the second preset view comprises the control, and wherein the graphical user interface in the second preset view consumes less of the touch-sensitive display than the graphical user interface in the first preset view.
Computer-readable memory storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform acts comprising:
- displaying, on a touch-sensitive display of a table computing device that is executing a window-less operating system, a graphical user interface of a unified communications (UC) application in a first preset view, the graphical user interface in the first preset view comprises a selectable control that corresponds to a communications modality supported by the UC application, wherein communications modalities supported by the UC application comprise real-time voice communications, text messaging, video conferencing, and voicemail playback;
- and
- responsive to detecting a preset gesture over the touch-sensitive display, transitioning the graphical user interface of the UC application from the first preset view to a second preset view, the second preset view consumes less of the touch-sensitive display than the first preset view, the second preset view comprises the selectable control, and the communications modality corresponding to the selectable control supported by the UC application when the graphical user interface is displayed in either the first preset view of the second preset view.
