Abstract
The present invention related to a process for the manufacture of hydrogen-based lubricants modified with per(halo)fluorinated aromatic compounds, to the modified lubricants thereby obtained and to the use of the modified lubricants for the preparation of lubricant compositions.

A process for the addition of a hydrogen-based lubricant to a per(halo)fluorinated aromatic compound, said process comprising reacting, via a radical reaction, a hydrogen-based lubricant (RH) with a per(halo)fluorinated aromatic compound (F) to provide a compound (A) comprising at least one per(halo)fluorinated cyclic group (F′) having at least one lubricant chain (RHC) bound thereto, said group (F′) optionally containing conjugated or non-conjugated double bonds.
