Abstract
A method for evaluating a crankshaft. The method comprises receiving data related to a three dimensional scan of the crankshaft, generating a crankshaft computer model based on the data, and determining whether the crankshaft is suitable for machining into a machined crankshaft based on the crankshaft computer model.

A method for evaluating a crankshaft, the method comprising:
- receiving data related to a three dimensional scan of the crankshaft;
- generating a crankshaft computer model based on the data;
- and
- determining whether the crankshaft is suitable for machining into a machined crankshaft based on the crankshaft computer model.

A computer program product comprising a computer-readable medium bearing computer program code embodied therein for use with a computer, the computer program code comprising:
- code for receiving data related to a three dimensional scan of a crankshaft;
- code for generating a crankshaft computer model based on the data;
