Abstract
Chromic luminescent compositions, and methods for the preparation and use of thereof, combining luminescent and non-luminescent materials that are capable of modulating color and brightness and frequency as a function of incident electromagnetic radiation intensity (dynamic camouflage) in combination with binders have been developed which do not have a detrimental effect on the hand of the textiles, fabrics and other materials to which it is applied.
Claims23
A textile, fabric or other flexible material having applied thereto a chromic luminescent composition (CLC), comprising at least one non-luminescent material, at least one luminescent material and at least one binder,
- wherein the CLC modulates color, brightness and/or frequency through absorption and emission as a function of incident electromagnetic radiation, and
- wherein the material has a hand comparable to the material not including the CLC.
A chromic luminescent composition (CLC), comprising at least one non-luminescent material, at least one luminescent material and at least one binder, wherein the CLC modulates color, brightness and/or frequency through absorption and emission as a function of incident electromagnetic radiation,
- wherein CLC applied to a textile does not significantly alter the hand of the textile, and
- wherein the ratio of binder to luminescent material is between 3.8:1 and 10:1.
