Abstract
The present disclosure provides stable, solid protein formulations. The present disclosure also provides methods of using these formulations in protein detection kits that are stable over a variety of temperatures for extended time periods.

A stable, solid protein formulation comprising bovine serum albumin (BSA), potassium phosphate, mannitol, sucrose, and polysorbate 20.
A lyophilization buffer comprising bovine serum albumin (BSA), potassium phosphate, mannitol, sucrose, and polysorbate 20.
A kit comprising a stable, solid erythropoietin protein formulation and a stable, solid anti-erythropoietin antibody formulation.
A method of testing a sample for the presence of erythropoietin, said method comprising:
- a) reconstituting a stable, solid erythropoietin formulation and a stable, solid anti-erythropoietin antibody formulation with water;
- b) contacting the anti-erythropoietin antibody formulation of a) with a test sample and assaying for binding, wherein a positive binding result indicates the presence of erythropoietin.
