Abstract
The present disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for creating protective packaging. The device includes a processor and a memory, the memory containing computer readable instructions. When executed by the processor, the instructions may cause the processor to receive, from a scanner, item data for at least one item to be packaged, based on the item data, determine one or more types of packaging elements for packaging the at least one item, and based on the determination, cause one or more packaging machine to create the one or more types of packaging elements.
Claims25
A device, comprising a processor and a memory, the memory containing computer readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
- receive, from an external sensor, item data for at least one item to be packaged;
- based on the item data, determine one or more types of packaging elements for packaging the at least one item;
- and
- based on the determination, cause one or more packaging machine to create the one or more types of packaging element.
A method of creating packaging elements, comprising:
- receiving, by a processing element, item data corresponding to at least one item;
- at least one of retrieving or creating packaging characteristics for packaging elements for packing the at least one item;
- and
- initiating one or more packaging machines to create packaging elements based on the characteristics.
A controller comprising a processor and a memory, the controller communicatively coupled to a scanner and a packaging machine, the memory containing computer readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
- receive, from the scanner, item data for at least one item to be packaged;
- transmit machine settings corresponding to packaging for the at least one item to the packaging machine to automatically adjust parameters for the machine.
