Abstract
A wireless device receives control message(s) configuring a plurality of cell groups comprising a first cell group and a second cell group. The wireless device transmits, as a part of a random access process, a first random access preamble in the second cell group. The wireless device aborts the random access process if a first time alignment timer of the first cell group expires.
Claims20
A wireless device comprising:
- one or more communication interfaces;
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the wireless device to:
- receive at least one control message comprising:
- configuration parameters of a plurality of cells grouped into a plurality of cell groups, the plurality of cell groups comprising:
- a first cell group comprising a first subset of the plurality of cells, uplink transmission timing in the first cell group being derived employing a first cell in the first cell group;
- and
- a second cell group comprising a second subset of the plurality of cells, uplink transmission timing in the second cell group being derived employing a second cell in the second cell group;
- a first information element for a first time alignment timer of the first cell group;
- and
- a second information element for a second time alignment timer of the second cell group;
- transmit, as a part of a random access process and while the first time alignment timer of the first cell group is running, a first random access preamble in the second cell group;
- and
- abort the random access process if the first time alignment timer of the first cell group expires.
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a wireless device, at least one control message comprising:
- configuration parameters of a plurality of cells grouped into a plurality of cell groups, the plurality of cell groups comprising:
- a first cell group comprising a first subset of the plurality of cells, uplink transmission timing in the first cell group being derived employing a first cell in the first cell group;
- and
- a second cell group comprising a second subset of the plurality of cells, uplink transmission timing in the second cell group being derived employing a second cell in the second cell group;
- a first information element for a first time alignment timer of the first cell group;
- and
- a second information element for a second time alignment timer of the second cell group;
- receiving, while a first time alignment timer of the first cell group is running, a signal initiating a random access process in the second cell group in the wireless device;
- and
- aborting the random access process if the first time alignment timer of the first cell group expires.
A wireless device comprising:
- one or more communication interfaces;
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the wireless device to:
- receive at least one control message comprising:
- configuration parameters of a plurality of cells grouped into a plurality of cell groups, the plurality of cell groups comprising:
- a first cell group comprising a first subset of the plurality of cells, uplink transmission timing in the first cell group being derived employing a first cell in the first cell group;
- and
- a second cell group comprising a second subset of the plurality of cells, uplink transmission timing in the second cell group being derived employing a second cell in the second cell group;
- a first information element for a first time alignment timer of the first cell group;
- and
- a second information element for a second time alignment timer of the second cell group;
- receive, while a first time alignment timer of the first cell group is running, a signal initiating a random access process in the second cell group in the wireless device;
- and
- abort the random access process if the first time alignment timer of the first cell group expires.
The wireless device of claim 16, wherein transmission power of the first random access preamble is determined, at least in part, employing received power of the second cell in the second cell group.
The wireless device of claim 17, wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the wireless device to transmit a second random access preamble on the first cell group, transmission power of the second random access preamble being determined, at least in part, employing received power of the first cell.
