Abstract
According to an example embodiment of this application, a method may include transmitting at least one preamble with a predetermined power level to a network element; determining whether to retransmit the at least one preamble to the network element; if it is determined to retransmit, retransmitting the at least one preamble with a ramped down power level; and transmitting a message to the network element based on at least one of the predetermined power level and the ramped down power level.
Claims20
A method for performing a random access procedure, comprising:
- transmitting at least one preamble with a predetermined power level to a network element;
- determining whether to retransmit the at least one preamble to the network element;
- if it is determined to retransmit, retransmitting the at least one preamble with a ramped down power level;
- and
- transmitting a message to the network element based on at least one of the predetermined power level and the ramped down power level.
An apparatus for performing a random access procedure comprising:
- at least one processor, and at least one memory including computer program code, wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to:
- transmit at least one preamble with a predetermined power level to a network element;
- determine whether to retransmit the at least one preamble to the network element;
- if it is determined to retransmit, retransmit the at least one preamble with a ramped down power level;
- and
- transmit a message to the network element based on at least one of the predetermined power level and the ramped down power level.
A computer program product for performing a random access procedure comprising a computer-readable medium bearing computer program code embodied therein for use with a computer, the computer program code includes code for:
- transmitting at least one preamble with a predetermined power level to a network element;
- determining whether to retransmit the at least one preamble to the network element;
- if it is determined to retransmit, retransmitting the at least one preamble with a ramped down power level;
- and
- transmitting a message to the network element based on at least one of the predetermined power level and the ramped down power level.
