Abstract
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for dividing a display area having rendered data thereon into a plurality of tiles and determining an update frequency for each tile. A determination is then made as to whether the update frequency of each tile exceeds a threshold. For each tile whose update frequency exceeds the threshold, that tile is marked as a candidate tile. Each of the adjacent candidate tiles are then associated to form a heat map. The heat map is then analyzed to determine whether to encode the rendered data associated with the heat map.

A computing system comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory storing computer-executable instructions that when executed by the at least one processor cause the computing system to:
- divide a display area having rendered data into a plurality of tiles;
- determine an update frequency of the rendered data for each tile in the plurality of tiles;
- mark each tile having an update frequency exceeding a threshold as a candidate tile;
- identify a group of adjacent candidate tiles;
- detect video data associated with the group of adjacent candidate tiles;
- and
- re-divide the group of adjacent candidate tiles back into the plurality of tiles in order to detect which of the plurality of tiles contains the video data.
A computing system comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory storing computer-executable instructions that when executed by the at least one processor cause the computing system to perform a method for encoding rendered data, the method comprising:
- dividing a display area having rendered data into a plurality of tiles;
- determining an update frequency of the rendered data for each tile in the plurality of tiles;
- marking each tile with an update frequency that exceeds a threshold as a candidate tile;
- identifying a group of adjacent candidate tiles;
- encoding the rendered data associated with the group of adjacent candidate tiles;
- tracking a position of the group of adjacent candidate tiles;
- and
- when the group of adjacent candidate tiles has moved to a different position, discontinuing the encoding of the rendered data associated with the group of adjacent candidate tiles.
A method implemented on a computing system for encoding rendered data, the method comprising:
- dividing a display area having rendered data into a plurality of tiles;
- determining an update frequency of the rendered data for each tile in the plurality of tiles;
- marking each tile that has an update frequency exceeding a threshold;
- identifying a group of adjacent marked tiles;
- encoding the rendered data associated with the group of adjacent marked tiles;
- tracking a position of the group of adjacent marked tiles;
- and
- discontinuing the encoding of the rendered data associated with the group of adjacent marked tiles when the group of adjacent marked tiles has moved to a different position.
