Apparatus and method for searching location related contents in portable terminal

An apparatus comprising:

• a memory configured to store first device identification corresponding to an external electronic device;
• and
• a controller operatively coupled with the memory, the controller configured to:
• obtain a message from the external electronic device using short range communication;
• identify the first device identification based at least in part on the message;
• determine whether the first device identification corresponds to second device identification stored at the apparatus;
• select content associated with a location corresponding to the external electronic device based at least in part on a determination that the first device identification corresponds to the second device identification;
• and
• perform a function related to at least one portion of the content.

A non-transitory machine-readable storage device storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

• obtain, at an electronic device, a message from an external electronic device using a short range communication;
• identify first device identification corresponding to the external electronic device based at least in part on the message;
• determine whether the first device identification corresponds to second device identification stored at the electronic device;
• select content associated with a location corresponding to the external electronic device based at least in part on a determination that the first device identification corresponds to the second device identification;
• and
• perform, at the electronic device, a function related to at least one portion of the content.
