Abstract
This application presents a direct data recovery from subspaces or parameters subranges of a received OFDM signal preidentified as corresponding to specific data symbols, by applying adaptive inverse signal transformation (AIST) method for reversing both original data coding and deterministic and random distortions introduced by a transmission channel, wherein both reversals are achieved by the same conversion of the subspaces or parameter subranges into data transmitted originally in order to eliminate an intermediate recovery of signals or parameters transmitted originally within the received OFDM signal. The AIST includes using both amplitudes and gradients of amplitudes of OFDM tone signals.
Claims12
A method for data recovery (DR) from a received orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal comprising multiple tones or sub-carriers carrying transmitted data, wherein the data recovery is based on a recovery of the tones or sub-carriers, wherein the DR method comprises the steps of:
- processing, using frequency sampling filters, the received OFDM signal in order to recover the tones or sub-carriers,
- wherein the frequency sampling filters are implemented by using a real time processor driven by clocks synchronous to frames of the received OFDM signal;
- processing the recovered tones or sub-carriers in order to measure amplitudes and phases of singular half-cycles or cycles of the recovered tones or sub-carriers;
- transforming the measured amplitudes and phases by reversing distortions introduced by a transmission channel supplying the received OFDM signal;
- using the transformed amplitudes and phases for recovering data symbols encoded originally in a transmitted OFDM signal.
A method for adaptive decoding (AD) of a received orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal produced by a transmission system transforming original data symbols into the received OFDM signal, by utilizing a direct recovery of original data symbols from parameters of OFDM tone signals;
- wherein the AD method comprises the steps of:
- defining subranges of the parameters corresponding to the original data symbols and defining an assignment of the original data symbols to the defined subranges;
- processing, using frequency sampling filters, the received OFDM signal in order to recover the OFDM tone signals comprised in the received OFDM signal,
- wherein the frequency sampling filters are implemented by using a real time processor driven by clocks synchronous to frames of the received OFDM signal;
- deriving the parameters from the recovered OFDM tone signals, wherein the parameters are derived by using amplitudes of the recovered OFDM tone signals;
- recovering the original data symbols corresponding to the received OFDM signal based on the defined assignment of the original data symbols to the defined subranges which the derived parameters belong to, wherein the derived parameters and the defined subranges remain affected by a transformation or distortion introduced by the transmission system.
A method for adaptive decoding (AD) of a received orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal produced by a transmission system transforming original data symbols into the received OFDM signal, by utilizing a direct recovery of original data symbols from subspaces of OFDM tone signals;
- wherein the AD method comprises the steps of:
- deriving reference frames defining the subspaces of the OFDM tone signals corresponding to the original data symbols and deriving an assignment of the original data symbols to the defined subspaces;
- processing, using frequency sampling filters, the received OFDM signal in order to recover the OFDM tone signals comprised in the received OFDM signal,
- wherein the frequency sampling filters are implemented by using a real time processor driven by clocks synchronous to frames of the received OFDM signal;
- identifying the defined subspaces which the recovered OFDM tone signals belong to, by comparing elements of the recovered OFDM tone signals with corresponding elements of the derived reference frames;
- recovering the original data symbols corresponding to the received OFDM signal by applying the derived assignment to the identified defined subspaces, wherein the identified defined subspaces remain affected by a transformation or distortion introduced by the transmission system.
