Abstract
A method includes receiving, at a processor of a network device, data packets to be communicated to a multicast destination. The method includes recording, with the network device, performance data associated with the data packets, where the performance data is associated with a performance metric. The method includes determining, with the processor, a trend based on the performance data. The method also includes sending a warning from the processor to a performance server based on the trend satisfying a condition.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, at a processor of a network device, data packets to be communicated to a multicast destination;
- recording, with the processor, performance data associated with the data packets, wherein the performance data is associated with a performance metric;
- determining, with the processor, a trend based on the performance data;
- and
- sending a warning from the processor to a performance server based on the trend satisfying a condition.
A router comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory in communication with the processor, the memory comprising instructions executable by the processor to perform operations including:
- receiving data packets to be communicated to a multicast destination;
- recording performance data associated with a performance metric for the data packets;
- determining a trend based on the performance data;
- and
- sending a warning to a performance server based on the trend satisfying a condition.
A computer-readable storage device storing instructions executable by a processor to perform operations comprising:
- receiving data packets to be communicated to a multicast destination;
- recording performance data associated with a performance metric for the data packets;
- determining a trend based on the performance data;
- and
- sending a warning to a performance server based on the trend satisfying a condition.
