Abstract
A system and method for separating clock recovery for a pseudowire communication. An incoming signal is received for a pseudowire communication. The incoming signal is separated into a first signal and a second signal. Packets within the first signal are ordered in a first register. A clock signal is extracted from the second signal in a second register to generate a modified clock signal. A delay is incurred during generating of the modified clock signal. The first signal is communicated utilizing the modified clock signal.
Claims20
A method for separating clock recovery for synchronous communication, the method comprising:
- receiving, at a customer premises equipment (CPE) device, an incoming signal, though a metro Ethernet network, for pseudowire communication;
- separating the incoming signal into a first signal and a second signal;
- ordering packets within the first signal in a first register;
- extracting a clock signal from the second signal in a second register to generate a modified clock signal;
- accounting for a processing delay in generating the modified clock signal;
- and
- communicating the first signal utilizing the modified clock signal.
A clock recovery unit in a customer premises equipment (CPE), comprising:
- a processor for executing a set of instructions;
- and
- a memory for storing the set of instructions, wherein the set of instructions are executable by the processor to:
- receive an incoming signal, through a metro Ethernet network, for a pseudowire communication;
- separate the incoming signal into a first signal and a second signal;
- order packets within the first signal in a first register;
- extract a clock signal from the second signal in a second register to generate a modified clock signal;
- account for a processing delay in generating the modified clock signal;
- communicate the first signal utilizing the modified clock signal.
