Abstract
A method for preparing M—N—C catalytic material utilizing ball-milling with or without the addition of a sacrificial support.
Claims20
A method for forming a catalytic material comprising:
- providing transition metal, nitrogen, and carbon (M—N—C) precursors;
- ball milling the precursors under suitable conditions to initiate polymerization of the precursors, thereby producing a polymer;
- and
- heat treating the polymer under sufficient conditions to produce metal active sites in the polymer, thereby producing a catalytic material.
