• wherein, in the formula:
• Ar1 represents any of hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a carbazolyl group represented by General Formula (G1-1) below;
• R1 to R3 each independently represent any of hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group;
• α represents any of a substituted or unsubstituted phenylene group and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenylene group;
• and
• n is any of 1 and 2, and
• wherein, in the formula:
• R4 and R5 each independently represent any of hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group.

A carbazole compound represented by General Formula (G2),

• wherein, in the formula:
• Ar1 represents any of hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a carbazolyl group represented by General Formula (G2-1) below;
• R1 to R3 each independently represent any of hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group;
• and
• n is any of 1 and 2, and
• wherein, in the formula:
• R4 and R5 each independently represent any of hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group.
