Abstract
In one aspect, electroluminescent architectures and devices are described herein. An electroluminescent device, in some embodiments, comprises a first electrode, a second electrode and at least one light emitting layer comprising charge carrier injection structures in contact with an electroluminescent phase in a predetermined spatial distribution, the electroluminescent phase comprising luminescent centers in a semiconductor matrix.
Claims22
An electroluminescent device comprising:
- a first electrode, a second electrode;
- and
- at least one light emitting layer comprising charge carrier injection structures in contact with an electroluminescent phase in a predetermined spatial distribution, the electroluminescent phase comprising luminescent centers in a polycrystalline semiconductor matrix, wherein a dielectric layer is positioned between the polycrystalline semiconductor matrix and the second electrode.

A method of making an electroluminescent device comprising:
- providing a substrate;
- and
- depositing over the substrate an electroluminescent layer comprising charge carrier injection structures and an electroluminescent phase comprising luminescent centers in a polycrystalline semiconductor matrix, wherein the charge carrier injection structures are placed in contact with the electroluminescent phase in a predetermined spatial distribution.
