Abstract
Example dynamic pricing systems and methods are described. In one implementation, a method receives an indication of an occurrence of a first event unrelated to a particular customer. The method also receives an indication of an occurrence of a second event unrelated to a particular customer. Based on the first event and the second event, the method determines whether to adjust a price associated with a particular item. If the method determines that the price associated with the particular item needs adjustment, a new price for the particular item is determined based on the first event and the second event.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving an indication of an occurrence of a first event unrelated to a particular customer;
- receiving an indication of an occurrence of a second event unrelated to a particular customer;
- determining, using one or more processors, whether to adjust a price associated with a particular item based on the first event and the second event;
- and
- responsive to determining to adjust the price associated with the particular item, determining a new price for the particular item based on the first event and the second event.
A method comprising:
- receiving a notification of the occurrence of an event unrelated to a particular customer;
- determining whether the event is a valid event;
- performing, using one or more processors, event-dependent and item-dependent price normalization to determine pricing information based on the event;
- determining whether to adjust the pricing information based on limits related to maximum and minimum allowable prices;
- revising the pricing information based on any determined adjustments;
- and
- forwarding the updated pricing information to a pricing manager.
A dynamic pricing system comprising:
- a memory configured to store pricing data;
- and
- one or more processors coupled to the memory, the one or more processors configured to:
- receive an indication of an occurrence of a first event unrelated to a particular customer;
- receive an indication of an occurrence of a second event unrelated to a particular customer;
- determine whether to adjust a price associated with a particular item based on the first event and the second event;
- and
- responsive to determining to adjust the price associated with the particular item, determine a new price for the particular item based on the first event and the second event.
