Abstract
A system allows smart backup and restore of databases. The system identifies a database affected by a database operation recorded by a database event record, identifies a database operation time recorded by the database event record, and requests to restore the database to a version backed up prior to the database operation time.
Claims15
A method, for restoring a database, comprising the steps of:
- identifying, by a control unit, a database affected by a database operation recorded by a database event record;
- identifying, by the control unit, a database operation time recorded by the database event record;
- and
- requesting, by a database modification unit, to restore the database to a version backed up prior to the database operation time.
A business change management system with a smart restore capability comprising:
- a network interface unit for receiving a database corruption notification from at least one database server;
- a control unit for determining a last access to a database associated with the database corruption notification;
- and
- a database modification unit for issuing a database restore command to the at least one database server associated with the database.
A non-transitory computer readable medium on which is stored a computer program for restoring database, the computer program comprising computer instructions that when executed by a computing device causes the computing device to perform the steps for:
- identifying a database affected by a database operation recorded by a database event record;
- identifying a database operation time recorded by the database event record;
- and
- requesting to restore the database to a version backed up prior to the database operation time.
