Online Computing System

A process for implementing network computing system, the computing system comprising a server and a plurality of client computers connected to the server through network connections, the process comprising the steps of:

• providing search page allowing each of a plurality of users to conduct searches by typing in suitable search keys or numbers;
• searching computing projects from a database containing existing computing projects in response to each search;
• generating an uploading form for each of the users for creating a computing project, the uploading form containing input fields for accepting use description, necessary form-making data, application-specific computation data, and information for calling a computing program for conducting mathematical computation;
• generating a method table in response to each user's request for the method table, the method table showing a plurality of data entries, each of the data entries comprising a mathematical equation and an associated computing program name, or a mathematical equation, an associated computing program name, and a method flag;
• filling data in the uploading form and providing computing program name together with method flag on the uploading form;
• submitting the filled uploading form to the server by each user;
• retrieving all data from the uploading form submitted by each user;
• and
• writing the user-submitted data as a computing project record for the computing project in the database table for projects.

A computing system, operated by application programs and computation programs stored on computer readable media for conducting mathematical computations for a plurality of computing projects, the system comprising:

• a server which runs a database application;
• at least one client computer being connected to the server through a network connection, and the server for rendering and displaying web pages from the server according to a communication protocol;
• media containing the code of a plurality of computation programs for conducting mathematical computations, the computation programs being capable of conducting different mathematical computations using different computing functions or algorithms, at least some functions or algorithms requiring different numbers of variables and different number of constants so that the computation programs can conduct mathematical computations for different practical needs;
• media containing the data of a plurality of computing projects, each computing project being stored as a project data record and comprising form-making data for creating a computing data input form, project-specific data for an associated mathematical function or algorithm, information for invoking the associated computing function or algorithm, and search keys to be used by a search method, wherein at least one of the plurality of computation programs is shared by a plurality of the computing projects through using different computation data;
• and
• media containing the code of the application programs causing the server to perform computing functions, the computing functions comprising generating a search interface page allowing a user to conduct searches for computing projects by typing in suitable search keys;
• searching and finding computing projects in the database in response to each search;
• generating a search result page containing one or more links or button, each of which is associated with one of the found computing projects;
• generating a computing data input form in response to the clicking of any of the links or buttons on the search result page, wherein the computing data input form containing at least one variable name, an input box for accepting the value of each of at least one variable, at least one result name, and a submission button;
• getting data from the computing data input form submitted by the user;
• retrieving necessary computation data preciously embedded on the computing data input form or retrieved from the same project record of the selected computing project;
• invoking the associated computing function and algorithms;
• conducting mathematical computation using the computation data and the user-provided data by the associated computing function or algorithm of the associated computation program;
• and generating a result page displaying the computed result in response to the user's submission of a filled computing data input form.
