Systems and methods for obtaining and transmitting a fish weight

A method for weighing a fish, comprising:

• weighing a fish to obtain a measured fish weight with a fish weighing system comprising:
• a housing having a processor arranged therein, said housing coupled to fish holding means for holding said fish for weighing;
• a scale coupled to said housing and coupled to said fish holding means, wherein said scale measures and generates a fish weight and communicates said fish weight to said processor;
• obtaining and reporting a GPS position via a global positioning system (GPS) arranged within said housing;
• displaying said GPS position and said measured fish weight via a display screen coupled to said housing;
• indicating if measuring said fish weight is complete via measurement completion indication means;
• and
• transmitting said fish weight to a storage device via communication means,
• wherein said processor is communicably coupled to said scale, said GPS, said display screen, said measurement completion indication means, and said communication means.
