Cooktop with window and end plate, cooking appliance, and method for manufacturing the cooktop

A cooktop for a fixed or mobile cooking appliance, comprising:

• a base plate, or a glass-ceramic base plate, including a side edge, an outer surface, and a peripheral outer edge which forms a plane and which is located at the intersection between the side edge and the outer surface;
• at least one cooking area and at least one control and/or information area, the control and/or information area including a window that is separated from the base plate and including a side edge, an outer surface, and a peripheral outer edge located at the intersection between the side edge and the outer surface;
• a seal made of synthetic material which is located between a part of the side edge of the base plate and a part of the side edge of the window to provide sealing between the window and the base plate, the seal including an outer surface, at least a part, or all, of the peripheral outer edge of the window being in the plane of the peripheral outer edge of the base plate;
• at least one end plate which is made of different material than that of the seal and is disposed above or on the seal, at least a part of the outer surface of the seal which is located between the outer surface of the base plate and the outer surface of the window being covered by the end plate.
