Abstract
A method of transmitting/receiving signals at a terminal in a communication system is provided. The method includes determining at least one first reception path with a lowest path loss from among first reception paths that receive a first reference signal from a base station, receiving a second reference signal through second paths set up based on the at least one first reception path, and transmitting an uplink access signal with a second uplink transmitting beam that corresponds to a second downlink receiving beam corresponding to a second path having a lowest path loss.
Claims18
A method of transmitting a signal from a terminal of a communication system, the method comprising:
- selecting at least one receiving beam of the terminal using first reference signals received from a base station;
- determining a transmitting power using second reference signals received from the base station through the selected at least one receiving beam;
- and
- transmitting the signal using the transmitting power.
A method of receiving a signal at a base station of a communication system, the method comprising:
- transmitting first reference signals to a terminal through transmitting beams;
- transmitting second reference signals to the terminal through sub beams included in each of the transmitting beams;
- and
- receiving, from the terminal, the signal transmitted through at least one transmitting beam of the terminal determined by the terminal using the second reference signals.
A terminal, of a communication system, transmitting a signal, the terminal comprising:
- a controller configured to:
- select at least one receiving beam of the terminal using first reference signals received from a base station, and
- determine a transmitting power using second reference signals received from the base station through the selected at least one receiving beam;
- and
- a transceiver configured to transmit the signal using the transmitting power.
A base station, of a communication system, receiving a signal, the base station comprising:
- a transmitter configured to:
- transmit first reference signals to a terminal through transmitting beams, and
- transmit second reference signals to the terminal through sub beams included in each of the transmitting beams;
- and
- a receiver configured to receive, from the terminal, the signal transmitted through at least one transmitting beam of the terminal determined by the terminal using the second reference signals.
