Abstract
Methods and systems are described herein for a media guidance application that generates for display content associated with preventing a user from terminating. For example, in response to determining that a user, currently subscribed to a first service, has subscribed to a second service, the media guidance application may compare the content accessible from each service. In response to determining that the services offer similar content, the media guidance application may generate for display discounts or other promotions for the first service.
Claims21
A method for preventing users from terminating services, the method comprising:
- determining, using control circuitry, that a user is subscribed to a first service;
- detecting, using the control circuitry, that the user has subscribed to a second service;
- in response to detecting that the user has subscribed to the second service, comparing media assets accessible through the first service to media assets accessible through the second service to determine whether a media asset is accessible through both the first service and the second service;
- in response to determining the media asset is accessible through both the first service and the second service, generating for display, on a display device, content associated with preventing the user from terminating the first service.
A system for preventing users from terminating services, the system comprising:
- storage circuitry configured to store content associated with preventing the user from terminating the first service;
- and
- control circuitry configured to:
- determine that a user is subscribed to a first service;
- detect that the user has subscribed to a second service;
- in response to detecting that the user has subscribed to the second service, compare media assets accessible through the first service to media assets accessible through the second service to determine whether a media asset is accessible through both the first service and the second service;
- in response to determining the media asset is accessible through both the first service and the second service, generate for display the content associated with preventing the user from terminating the first service.
