Abstract
A communication apparatus to forward a packet, the communication apparatus comprising of a control unit to communicate with a controller, based on a predetermined control protocol, being capable of transmitting a first packet forwarding rule to a plurality of the communication apparatus, and a table divided into a first region to store the first packet forwarding rule and a second region to store a second packet forwarding rule set by the communication apparatus.
Claims10
A communication apparatus to forward a packet, the communication apparatus comprising:
- a control unit to communicate with a controller, based on a predetermined control protocol, being capable of transmitting a first packet forwarding rule to a plurality of the communication apparatus;
- and
- a table divided into a first region to store the first packet forwarding rule and a second region to store a second packet forwarding rule set by the communication apparatus.
A communication apparatus to forward a packet, the communication apparatus comprising:
- a first unit to communicate with a controller, based on a predetermined control protocol, being capable of transmitting a first packet forwarding rule to a plurality of the communication apparatus;
- and
- a second unit to determine, based on a input port of the packet, processing the packet depending on either a first region to store the first packet forwarding rule or a second region to store a second packet forwarding rule set by the communication apparatus.
A communication apparatus to forward a packet, the communication apparatus comprising:
- a first unit to communicate with a controller, based on a predetermined control protocol, being capable of transmitting a first packet forwarding rule to forward the packet to a plurality of the communication apparatus;
- and
- a second unit to forward the packet depending on a second region to store a second packet forwarding rule set by the communication apparatus when a first region to store the first packet forwarding rule does not store a rule to forward the packet.
A communication method by use of a communication apparatus forwarding a packet, the communication method comprising:
- communicating between a control unit and a controller, based on a predetermined control protocol, the control unit being capable of transmitting a first packet forwarding rule to a plurality of the communication apparatus;
- storing the first packet forwarding rule in a first region of a table;
- and
- storing a second packet forwarding rule set by the communication apparatus in a second region of the table.
A communication method by use of a communication apparatus forwarding a packet, the communication method comprising:
- communicating between a first unit and a controller, based on a predetermined control protocol, the first unit being capable of transmitting a first packet forwarding rule to a plurality of the communication apparatus;
- and
- determining, based on an input port of the packet, processing the packet depending on either a first region to store the first packet forwarding rule or a second region to store a second packet forwarding rule set by the communication apparatus.
A communication method by use of a communication apparatus forwarding a packet, the communication method comprising:
- communicating between a first unit and a controller, based on a predetermined control protocol, the first unit being capable of transmitting a first packet forwarding rule to forward the packet to a plurality of the communication apparatus;
- and
- forwarding the packet depending on a second region to store a second packet forwarding rule set by the communication apparatus when a first region to store the first forwarding rule does not store a rule to forward the packet.
