Abstract
An apparatus, system, and method are described herein. The apparatus includes an emitter and a plurality of sensors. The emitter and the sensors are asymmetrically placed in the system with respect to the emitter. Data from the emitter and sensors is used to generate a high accuracy depth map and a dense depth map. A high resolution and dense depth map is calculated using the high accuracy depth map and the dense depth map.
Claims25
An apparatus for structured stereo, comprising:
- an emitter;
- a plurality of sensors, wherein the sensors are asymmetrically placed with respect to the emitter.
A system for structured stereo, comprising:
- an emitter;
- a plurality of sensors, wherein the emitter and the sensors are asymmetrically placed in the system with respect to the emitter;
- a memory that is to store instructions and that is communicatively coupled to the emitter and plurality of sensors;
- and
- a processor communicatively coupled to the memory, wherein when the processor is to execute the instructions, the processor is to:
- generate a high accuracy depth map;
- generate a dense depth map;
- and
- calculate a high resolution and dense depth map using the high accuracy depth map and the dense depth map.
A method for hybrid active stereo and structured light, comprising
- obtaining a sparse depth map of low accuracy;
- generating a high accuracy depth map using the sparse depth map of low accuracy as an initial approximation;
- obtaining a dense low accuracy depth map;
- and
- calculating a dense high resolution depth map using the high accuracy depth map and the dense low accuracy depth map.
