Abstract
Examples disclose a cable to secure data transmission. Examples of the cable include a connector to connect to a computing device for data transmission. Further, the examples of the cable include an active component coupled to the connector and embedded in the cable. The active component is to at least perform one of encrypt and decrypt the data transmitted on the cable.
Claims15
A cable to secure data transmission, the cable comprising:
- a connector to connect to a computing device for data transmission;
- and
- an active component coupled to the connector and embedded in the cable, the active component to perform at least one of encrypt and decrypt the data transmitted on the cable.
A method to encrypt data within a cable, the method comprising;
- determining header data;
- determining frame data associated with the header data;
- and
- encrypting the frame data by an active component integrated into the cable.
A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium encoded with instructions executable by a processor of a computing device, the storage medium comprising instructions to:
- identify header data from a data stream, the data stream including the header data and a frame data;
- encrypt the frame data, by an active component embedded in a universal serial bus connection, and
- transmit the encrypted frame data over the universal serial bus connection.
