Method for protecting a computer program product, computer program product and computer-readable storage medium

A computer program product comprising computer instructions for carrying out a method for protecting a computer program product, the computer program product being configured for operation in an operating environment, the method comprising:

• recording at least one operating parameter for the operating environment in which the computer program product is executed, wherein the at least one operating parameter is defined outside the operating environment;
• comparing the recorded at least one operating parameter with a comparison value stored for the respective operating parameter;
• and
• outputting a warning signal if a number of comparison results exceeds a predefined threshold value, wherein the comparison results indicate execution of the computer program product in a different operating environment than the operating environment in which the comparison values were recorded.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having stored therein data representing instructions executable by a programmed processor for protecting a computer program product, the computer program product being configured for operation in an operating environment, the storage medium comprising instructions for:

• recording at least one operating parameter for the operating environment in which the computer program product is executed, wherein the at least one operating parameter is defined outside the operating environment;
• comparing the recorded at least one operating parameter with a comparison value stored for the respective operating parameter;
• and
• outputting a warning signal if a number of comparison results exceeds a predefined threshold value, wherein the comparison results indicate execution of the computer program product in a different operating environment than the operating environment in which the comparison values were recorded.
