Abstract
An information processing apparatus including a removable storage device for storing data includes a control unit that determines whether communication is possible with the storage device and, if communication with the storage device is determined not to be possible, prohibit data from being written to the storage device. When the information processing apparatus is started up, the control unit again determines whether communication is possible with the storage device to which the control unit prohibits data writing and permits data writing to the storage device if communication with the storage device is determined to be possible.
Claims9
An information processing apparatus including a removable storage device for storing data, the information processing apparatus comprising:
- a control unit configured to determine whether communication with the storage device is possible and, if communication with the storage device is determined not to be possible, prohibit data from being written to the storage device,
- wherein, when the information processing apparatus is started up, the control unit again determines whether communication is possible with the storage device to which the control unit prohibits data writing and permits data writing to the storage device if communication with the storage device is determined to be possible.
A method for controlling an information processing apparatus including a removable storage device for storing data, the method comprising:
- determining whether communication with the storage device is possible;
- prohibiting, if communication with the storage device is determined not to be possible, data from being written to the storage device;
- determining, when the information processing apparatus is started up, whether communication with the storage device to which data writing is prohibited is possible;
- and
- permitting, if communication with the storage device is determined to be possible, data writing to the storage device to which data writing is prohibited.
