Abstract
Examples disclosed herein provide systems, methods, and software to attach updated applications to computing devices. In one instance, a method of attaching updated applications to a computing device includes identifying an application update for an application stored on the computing device, and determining an updated application volume containing an updated version of the application. The method further includes mounting the updated application volume to the computing device, and overlaying the updated version of the application with the application stored on the computing device.
Claims20
A method for attaching application updates on a computing device, the method comprising:
- identifying an application update for an application stored on the computing device;
- identifying an updated application volume containing an updated version of the application;
- mounting the updated application volume to the computing device;
- and
- overlaying the updated version of the application with the application stored on the computing device.
An apparatus to provide updated applications to a computing device, the apparatus comprising:
- one or more non-transitory computer readable media;
- and
- processing instructions stored on the one or more non-transitory computer readable media that, when executed by processing circuitry, direct the processing circuitry to:
- identify an application update for an application stored on the computing device;
- determine an updated volume containing an updated version of the application;
- mount the updated application volume to the computing device;
- and
- overlay the updated version of the application with the application stored on the computing device.
A system for updating an application on a computing device, the system comprising:
- one or more application volumes that store one or more applications;
- and
- a processing system configured to:
- identify an application update for the application stored on the computing device;
- determine an updated application volume in the one or more application volumes containing an updated version of the application;
- mount the updated application volume to the computing device;
- and
- overlay the updated version of the application with the application stored on the computing device.
