Methods, Devices, And Computer Program Products For Exchanging Interactive Map Information

A mobile communication device comprising:

• a display;
• an input/output (IO) interface;
• and
• a processor configured to process stored applications,
• wherein the applications, when executed by the processor, cause the mobile communication device to
• display, on the display, a map according to the map information with embedded links,
• highlight, on the displayed map, a first route connecting a first starting point on the displayed map to a point of interest represented by one of the embedded links,
• receive, from the IO interface, a selection of a second starting point entered by a first user of the mobile communication device, and
• highlight on the displayed map (i) a second route connecting the second starting point on the displayed map to the point of interest (ii) while the first route is highlighted.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage device comprising instructions that, when executed by a processor of a mobile communication device, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

• displaying, on the display, a map according to the map information with embedded links;
• highlighting, on the displayed map, a first route connecting a first starting point on the displayed map to a point of interest represented by one of the embedded links;
• receiving, from the IO interface, a selection of a second starting point entered by a first user of the mobile communication device;
• and
• highlighting on the displayed map a second route connecting the second starting point on the displayed map to the point of interest while the first route is highlighted.
