Abstract
A dampened tile is disclosed, providing comfort, sound deadening, and ease of installation and removal. The tile includes a porcelain tile and a flexible dampening material applied between the tile and an adjoining surface. The flexible dampening material can be a number of different polymer or foam materials. The flexible dampening material can be applied to a bottom of the tile, sides of the tile, and pre-applied to a substrate surface below the tile.

A dampened tile, comprising:
- a floor tile;
- and
- a flexible dampening material applied between the floor tile and an adjoining surface.
A dampened tile system, the system comprising:
- a floor tile;
- a flexible dampening material applied between the floor tile and a substrate surface;
- wherein the dampening materials provide flexible support of the floor tile.
An encapsulated tile, comprising:
- a floor tile;
- a flexible dampening material pre-applied to a bottom side of the floor tile and to four thin sides of the floor tile;
- wherein the dampening materials provide flexible support of the floor tile.
