Abstract
Provided herein are methods and compositions relating to the synthesis of isoprenoid diphosphates using a mutated isopentenyl phosphate kinase.
Claims5
An isolated protein comprising an amino acid sequence that is at least 90% identical to at least 200 contiguous amino acids of SEQ ID NO:8, SEQ ID NO:9, SEQ ID NO:10 or SEQ ID NO:11;
- wherein the amino acid sequence has a substitution at the position corresponding to Ala63 of SEQ ID NO:8, Ala71 of SEQ ID NO:9, Ala61 of SEQ ID NO:10, or Ala104 of SEQ ID NO:11;
- and
- wherein said amino acid sequence is capable of catalyzing a reaction between an isoprenoid monophosphate and a phosphate donor to produce an isoprenoid diphosphate.
