Claims56
An aqueous unit composition comprising a structural protein present at a concentration of between about 0.1-10 (wt/vol) %,
- wherein the liquid unit composition is a liquid droplet having a viscosity of between about 1-20 centipoise at room temperature and having a volume of between about 0.1-100 pL.
A printed array comprising:
- a substrate;
- and,
- a plurality of dot units,
- wherein the plurality of dot units has a semi-solid or solid form,
- wherein each dot unit comprises a low molecular weight structural protein;
- wherein each dot unit is between about 0.1-250 μm in diameter;
- and,
- wherein the plurality of dot units is deposited upon the substrate in a predetermined spatial pattern.
5 more elements
A method for printing a structure, the method comprising steps of:
- providing a protein-based ink comprising a low molecular weight structural protein at a concentration between about 0.1-10 wt/vol %, wherein the protein-based ink has a viscosity of between about 5-20 centipoise at room temperature;
- depositing the protein-based ink through a nozzle in liquid droplets onto a substrate in a predetermined spatial pattern,
- wherein each liquid droplet has a volume between about 0.1-100 pL.
A method for manufacturing a silk ink, comprising steps of:
- providing an aqueous silk fibroin solution comprising a low molecular weight silk fibroin;
- confirming or adjusting the aqueous silk fibroin solution so as to achieve a viscosity in a range from 10-12 cP at room temperature.
