Phosphorus compound and transition metal complex of the same

A phosphorus compound represented by general formula (1):

• wherein R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group which may have a substituent(s), an aryl group which may have a substituent(s), a heteroaryl group which may have a substituent(s), an aralkyl group which may have a substituent(s), an alkoxy group which may have a substituent(s), or a halogeno group;
• R3 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group which may have a substituent(s), or an aralkyl group which may have a substituent(s);
• R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, and R10 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group which may have a substituent(s), an aryl group which may have a substituent(s), or an aralkyl group which may have a substituent (s);
• N represents a nitrogen atom;
• P represents a phosphorus atom;
• Y represents lone pair electrons, an oxo group, or a thioxo group;
• Z represents an oxy group or a thioxy group;
• R1 and R2 may be bonded to each other to form a ring which contains P and may have a substituent (s);
• and each of the pairs of R4 and R5, R5 and R6, R7 and R8, R8 and R9, and R9 and R10 may be bonded to each other to form an unsaturated hydrocarbon ring which is fused with the benzene ring or the pyrrole ring and may have a substituent(s).
