Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet;
• a sheet conveying unit configured to convey the sheet with the image formed thereon by the image forming unit;
• a storage portion including a tray to stack the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveying unit and being configured to store the sheet stacked on the tray inside the image forming apparatus;
• an opening configured to expose the sheet stored in the storage portion to the outside of the image forming apparatus;
• and
• a sheet moving unit configured to move the sheet until a leading edge of the sheet stored in the storage portion passes the opening and the sheet is exposed from the opening to the outside, and stop the sheet being in state that a first part of the sheet including a trailing edge of the sheet is in contact with the tray in the image forming apparatus and a second part of the sheet including the leading edge of the sheet is exposed to the outside and out of contact with the tray,
• wherein the sheet moving unit moves the sheet so that an exposure length, which is a length of the second part of the sheet, is changed in accordance with a type of the sheet.
